I’ve known the Kyles for a long time. Kris’ sister Courtney was one of my best friends growing up, and they lived just down the street, so I saw them all often. He and his wife, Amanda, are high school sweethearts (love!), and they recently welcomed their second son, Logan, into the world this past summer (they also have a little doll of a daughter named Rylley, she is so sweet….if a little challenging to capture!)
This was another case where we had intended to take pictures much sooner than we did but for one reason or another we just could not get together (Funny story: we actually did set up a time to take photos this past summer when Amanda was still pregnant with Logan, but the night of the shoot, we both ended up at the wrong place. I had asked them to meet me at the covered bridge on Plumwesweep road, but turns out, there are TWO covered bridges on Plumwesweep road, so we each went to the wrong on! Only in the covered bridge capital of the Maritimes would something like that happen…also, note to self: bring cell phone to shoots!) Anyway, we ended up meeting on the last weekend in October instead, and even though all the leaves were gone and things were pretty ‘dead’, I love some of these shots more than any I’ve ever taken. The light was gorgeous at the park where we went, and although it was realllly cold (it even snowed a little bit!), Kris, Amanda and Rylley were real troopers (Logan slept for the most part). As I mentioned, Rylley was a bit hard to sit still, but it wasn’t anything a normal 2.5 year old wouldn’t do, and we managed to distract/bribe her by using her favourite princess, Ariel (you’ll see her appear in a few of the shots, she would not let that doll go!)
(You can see the session I did with Courtney’s kids here, and also Kris’ older brother, Adam, and his kids’ session here. That’s the whole family!)

On top of this lovely family session, I also had the pleasure of doing an indoor session with little Logan himself, since he had to be so bundled up while out in the cold. What a joy it is to see babies so small like that again (I’m already forgetting how small they can be!)
I’ll be posting those shots soon, so be sure check back…
Until then,
