BEST of 2014 | New Brunswick Newborn Photographer

Happy February! I’m kicking off this month with some of my favourite (but most time consuming) posts…my BEST OF 2014!! It was a huge year for me, volume wise, and my biggest increase was definitely in newborns; in total I shot 21 newborn sessions and 22 newborns! When I think that that is about 1 newborn session every 2.5 weeks, that’s incredible!  I’m so honoured to be a part of so many families’ lives and first memories with their precious babies, it’s truly one of the best parts of my job.

I love photographing newborns and I felt like in 2014 I really honed my style (hint: I shoot from above mostly now), and as I added props like furs and learned new poses, as well as playing around with my angles and the light, I really grew into what kind of newborn photographer I want to me. This year I want to perfect the end result (read: editing) a bit more, to get those skin tones just perfect and have the natural beauty that I really admire in so many newborn photographers, both locally and globally! Oh, and learn new wrapping techniques! 🙂

I also need to give a big shoutout to Angela at Creative Yarn Arts, she provided me with many of the beautiful hats and blankets and props that you see in the images below, I really look forward to working with her closely this year to develop some unique and beautiful accessories for your baby’s session!

So, without further ado, please take a look through some of my favourites newborn images of 2014 (there are many, I’m sorry, was so hard to narrow down their sweet faces!)

(And, for the record, baby’s names are: Jayse, Lucy, Jacob, Atticus, Gracie, Brock, Sam, Hudson, Nolan, Mila, Anna, Emma, Allison, Lauren, Rachel, Sybil, Isla, Dylan, Ari, Piper, Jax and Charlotte.)
