This is it, the big one, and the hardest one to narrow down…my favourite WEDDING images of 2014! (And, as you’ll see, I didn’t do a great job of narrowing down, I just couldn’t leave any of these out!)
2014 was my biggest year so far; 15 weddings in all parts of NB…from a beach on the Northumberland Strait to the back hills of Waterford, from uptown Saint John to downtown Moncton, from a swanky hotel in Fredericton to a kid’s camp on Caton’s Island (and in Kingston-twice.) In churches and halls and golf clubs and hotels and homes, we did a bit of everything (I say we because it was the first year I worked with awesome assistants, and what a difference it made!) We sweated in July and froze in September, we drove in a hurricane and were eaten alive by blackflies. Weddings parties big and small, beautiful lace and satin dresses, suits and veils, big and simple, lovely and sweet.
And the moments. So many moments, both big and small, they are what kept me going, and keep me going still. When you’re in the thick of wedding season it’s hard to really see what you are doing, because you’re just trying to get through it as well as you can. After not looking back on some of these images for almost a year, it surprised me just how much I caught myself smiling and tearing up over the images, because I remembered, I remembered the feeling, the moments leading up to and following the shot, and it made me so thankful that I was there to witness it all. I hope that my clients feel the same way when they look back on their wedding photos, that they will evoke a memory, an emotion, a moment for them. If they do that, then I’ve succeeded and nothing else matters.
It’s going to be a tough year to follow but I think that 2015 is going be equally amazing! Thank you everyone for trusting me and following me on this journey.
