Alternate title to this post: “An Ode to Sara”.
Well, here we are, at the end of wedding season 2015! It was a crazy year with 18 weddings, and a lot of firsts for me; first destination wedding down south, first April wedding, first courthouse wedding, first wedding(s) up north, first same sex wedding, first November wedding, and first surprise wedding. It was an awesome year, and a big part of it was having the help of this lady right here. She was with me for 85% of the weddings I did this year and as I’ve said before, she is essential to making the wedding day run smoother and to keeping my spirits and sanity in tact. She’s probably going to hate me for all these images, but it’s all in good fun and I want everyone to see how much she puts up with!
(Big thanks to Glenn and Jenna who supplemented a couple of weddings that Sara couldn’t attend, and you may also notice another bearded assistant in the mix…my husband Dan was with me in Cancun and did a great job being my assistant.)
(Final note: I decided to include a couple of ‘here’s how the shot was made’ images, you’ll see them with an arrow, Sara took a photo of me shooting it and next to it is the resulting image, kind of cool…also a lot of these shots are cell phone images so pardon the smaller size and quality.)
Ok, here we go, wedding season 2015!
Mirror selfies, my only way of documenting myself this year for the most part.
Last wedding of the year; she looks impressed doesn’t she?
Taking a break on the beautiful Maguaguadavic Lake.
She loves pretending to walk down the aisle for me…
Behind the scenes and resulting image (below)
He looks like he know what he’s doing in this image, doesn’t he? (He doesn’t.)
Standing in the water + looking amazing in photos = my thing 😉
She also loves being a groom for first look locations (or she was put in a corner for being bad…)
“Stand here, no wait, stand here, one sec, ok, got it.”
It’s not a bad life sometimes (hanging with some vendors while I slave away.)
Precarious dress hanger and fluffier…
Caught her slacking off 😉
Getting flashed in the dark (always hilarious).
She loves holding the light, she really does…
This was probably the craziest thing I made her do; carry the wedding dress up this 3-storey tree house that had no ladder, took us forever but I love the results! (She’s hiding behind the tree, haha)
Though as you can see, I make her climb for dresses a lot.
Sooooo handsome. It was fun dressing him up for this, he hasn’t worn a tie in years!!
“For the love of all that is holy are you done taking pictures of me?!”
Drinking champagne, not a bad way to spend a Sunday in Mexico 🙂
Here’s to more adventure in 2016!
