As I mentioned before, last November I attended not 1, not 2, but THREE different workshops to help me with my photography. I thought that maybe learning from others would give me an extra boost to my creativity, which, if you’ve been following along for the past month, you know I’ve been struggling with. So it was a no-brainer when I saw that my ultimate favourite local, CRAZY talented photographer Sean McGrath (you may recognize the name, he photographed Dan and I back in 2014 and has since become a colleague and friend), was offering an all-day workshop, I signed up right away.
In short: I Loved It! It was a great day to learn from Sean and chat with a bunch of other talented, local photographers as well. We spent the afternoon going over light, composition, ‘non-posing’ and how he sees things (which I can’t even describe, I wish I could borrow his brain and eyes for a day!), then we went out for a chilly shoot with a very brave couple, then came back after supper to go over editing and workflow. We got to pick his brain on anything and everything, and I left with a few new tricks. I managed to butt my way in front of 20+ other photographers to get a few shots of this gorgeous married pair (yay-marriage!), and had a bit of fun trying a new editing style (still working on it.)
If you ever get the chance to work with Sean or learn from Sean, DO IT. Can’t recommend enough.

Next up, my workshop in Toronto!
