A couple weeks ago my photography clique/group/colleagues/network/gang/pack/tribe/whatever we want to call ourselves got together for a ‘field trip’ of sorts, a chance to get out as a group and learn from each other. This particular evening we were led by Shannon-May, an amazing wedding and portrait photographer, to see how she approaches photographing a couple. We all shot a bit but she mostly led the way and it was great to learn a few tips from her on adding more movement and fun into the session, something I struggle with (being the broody chick that I am sometimes).
We were also lucky enough to photograph another great local photographer, Jeremy, and his wife Kara. Now, I LOOOOVE photographing married couples so this was an extra bonus treat, and they were wonderfully, well, married together (I swear there’s a difference, even if it’s only in my head.) Funnily enough the shots that I ended up loving the most were the most static ones, but I did stretch my creative muscles a bit, and was thankful for colleagues who will push me and help me grow.
