BEST OF 2017-EMBRACE | New Brunswick Intimate Lifestyle Photographer

Last year I started offering a new type of session, something I called “EMBRACE” sessions; a way for couples (particularly married couples) to connect in the comfort of their own home, focusing on their relationship in a way that was more than just posing for the camera.

You can read about the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of these sessions HERE

I would loooooove loooove love luv to photograph a few more couples like this before the snow melts (winter is the perfect time of year for these types of session, while everyone is feeling cozy!), so if this is something that might interest you please get in touch!

BEST OF 2017-ENGAGEMENT | New Brunswick Engagement Photographer

My favorites of the favourites, my all time love, the thing I would photograph solely for the rest of my days…couples. I feel like such a broken record but the longer I do this the more it becomes cemented in my heart and  in my mind that photographing the connection between 2 people who are in love is what I’m meant to do. 2017 gave me lots to work with, with couples of all kinds, and emotions both big and subtle to capture. I’m constantly chasing that swooning feeling, and I’m so thankful that couples allow me to chase it with them.

Happy Lovers Day.

BEST OF 2017- NEWBORN FAMILIES | New Brunswick Newborn Photographer

Along with photographing brand new little souls, I also love photographing them with those who love them most (or, at least, will eventually love them most). Watching the various reactions of the older siblings to their new little brother or sister is always interesting; I find that the ones who are under 18 months have no reaction whatsoever because they are still too little themselves to realize what’s going on; from 18 months to around 3 is the ‘unpredictable’ age, because you never know how they will respond to the idea of their sibling or of taking photos, or listening, or sitting still…it’s a bit chaotic. Then for the ones over 3 it’s usually nice since they are excited, helpful and old enough to follow a bit of direction. Now, usually the siblings who come into my studio fall into that ‘chaotic’ age group, but I try to make it as relaxing and non-stressful for the older child (and parents!) as possible, and will never force a sibling into something they really don’t want to do, or put the poor little newborn at risk (those poor 2nd-3rd kids, they get tossed around, haha!) Family photos are always interesting to try but So satisfying when they work out, and parent shots still remain some of my favourite shots ever…I swoon seeing a couple cuddled up with their littlest love, there’s nothing like this special time with a newborn, whether it’s your first or fifth.

Families, growing and changing, it’s the absolute best <3

BEST OF 2017-NEWBORNS | New Brunswick Newborn Photographer

I was fortunate enough to work with 22 sweet new souls last year (as well as their moms, dads, brothers, sisters and grandparents); newborns continue to be a constant in my business (I have photographed over 100 babies in my 7 years!) and one that I don’t think I will ever want to move away from; I absolutely, wholeheartedly love working with new families and would love to expand the amount of babies I see in the studio.

I take great care in making sure the babies are safe, secure, and photographed in a way that is beautifully styled and on trend but that also keeps the focus on the little one (I’ve really gotten back into the use of the beanbag and love these poses as they focus mainly on their sweet little faces). This upcoming year I hope to better my session flow, create a preparation guide for new parents, continue trying out new lighting techniques in the studio, perfect those little poses and make the experience as stress-free and pleasant for the parents as possible. The creative freedom that having the new studio has allowed me has been so wonderful, and I love that I am conveniently located for most of my clients, as I know that the first few drives with a newborn can be stressful! I will always do my best to capture your baby in a way that you will enjoy looking back on in years to come and in a way that will forever remind you of their beginning, because trust this ‘old’ mama, it can go by so, SO fast.

(Ps-I will be photographing a studio tour soon!)

So to end this, I just want to say: welcome to the world Ellerie, Olivia, Samuel, Cole, Penelope, Hudson, Charlotte, Caroline, Emma, Waylon, Jacob, Nathalie, Eden, Broden, Ava, Lillian, Levi, William, Leah, Khalid, Sophia and Mila <3

Meet Mila | New Brunswick Newborn Photographer

My last newborn of 2017 was this sweet. spunky haired girl. She was, as many others were this past year, the little sibling of one of my past clients, and I loved seeing her and older sister together (even though older sister Alaina wasn’t quite interested in the whole ‘photography’ thing) 😉 I’ll be seeing them both again next December though when Mila comes back for her 1-year photos as part of my New Life & Celebrate package (which is one of my favourite packages, I ADORE seeing them come back 1-year later to see how much they have changed, it’s remarkable!)

Everyone, meet Mila.
