Amy & Mike | Camp Shiktehawk Country Wedding [Florenceville-Bristol, NB]

My last wedding in September took me all the way up to the Woodstock area of the province, for the wedding between Mike and Amy; after having met this sweet couple a couple months before in Alma for their engagement photos, I was really looking forward to capturing their day as genuinely and creatively as possible. We started bright and early (8am, my earliest start time in 7 years of photographing weddings!), and the entire day flowed smoothly and beautifully, with stunning details and many touching moments along the way (I tell you, father-daughter first looks need to become more of a thing because they are amazing.) You got the immediate sense that family and faith was extremely important to these families and I was struck again and again by the sweetness and pureness of Amy and Mike’s love for each other. They decided to celebrate at Amy’s family’s church, as well as a very special place to Amy and her family, Shiktehawk Bible Camp, an absolutely gorgeous located accentuated by the perfect weather and foliage. I felt lucky to be there all day long.

Meet Levi | New Brunswick Newborn Photographer

Levi’s mum received a gift certificate for her newborn photos from a friend (and former client of mine), and I’m soooo happy to have met this boy! He will forever be remembered as the baby who stayed awake for the first half of his session but he did nothing but lay there and stare at me with his adorable face and big eyes, it was remarkable and mesmerizing! What pure sweetness newborns have, I will never take advantage of the privilege I have to meet these tiny humans in their first few weeks of life.

Everyone, meet Levi.

(Also, the green set up and wrap of him might be one of my favorites of 2017.)

Hilary and Daniel | Waterford, NB Engagement Photographer

My favourite time of year, my favourite type of scenery, and a super sweet couple who photograph beautifully and who have invited me to be a part of their wedding day? I really can’t ask for more 🙂 Hilary and Daniel came all the way from Moncton to visit me in one of my favorite places, Waterford, for their engagement photos. It was nice getting to know them and I REALLY look forward to their July wedding next year in Alma (another ‘first’ for me, I’ve been wanting to do a wedding there for years and I’m thrilled that they are choosing it as their wedding destination!) They were cuddly, kind, adventurous, not scared of my sister’s dogs (who followed us around), and super cute…again, can’t ask for more.

Alice & Nathan | Balmoral Kirk Intimate Farm Wedding [Tatamagouche, NS]

Sometimes a wedding has all the perfect elements to make it a truly memorable and special day; a beautiful location that is significant to the couple, weather that is comfortable and light that is magical, a mix of traditions and modern touches, sweet details, special moments and a day that revolves around the personalities of the couple and their friends and families. This is exactly what happened with Alice and Nathan’s day in Tatamagouche, NS. Because of distance and school/work schedules I wasn’t able to meet these two until the day of the wedding, but it didn’t matter, they were the most soft spoken, gentle and kind souls I’ve ever met, I felt immediately honored to photograph them in these moments. They were married only 2 minutes from Alice’s family farm, with a small group of close family and friends, without a wedding party, without a lot of pomp and flash, it almost felt old fashioned in the best possible way. The beauty of this area of NS took my breath away and I hope to photograph weddings like this again and again and again.

Kayla and Ryan | Apohaqui, NB Engagement Photographer

Happy 2018!! So hard to believe we are here at the beginning of a new year, and yet it keeps happening, time keeps going by. I have lots to say about the past year and everything that has happened in this little business of mine, as well as sharing the best of the best, but for now I will be spending the first few weeks of 2018 catching up on blogging from 2017, because these sessions and weddings deserved to be shared in full!

First up in the big #2017blogcatchupof2018, a fun engagement session with Kayla and Ryan in the peak of fall season. These two lovebirds (and new parents) are getting married next early fall at Poley Mountain and I’m so looking forward to seeing the new lodge and shooting a wedding there (I did one in the old lodge that has since burned down.) They live nearby in Apohaqui and so we decided to just roam our own backyards, and at that time of year we could have literally shot anywhere, the leaves were perfect and the light was on FIRE. We had lots of fun and I enjoyed getting a bit of playfulness out of these two (forcing them to straddle in a field will do that) 😉

I miss Fall already.
